Ortech Engineering (OEI) is a Texas-based small business corporation with headquarters in the Clear Lake area of Houston, Texas. We are located near NASA's Johnson Space Center and the Gulf Coast petrochemical industry. We specialize in delivering control systems solutions using both conventional and expert systems technology.
OEI was founded by Edgar Dohmann in August, 1994 when the assets of Intermetrics' Control Systems Division (CSD) and Togai InfraLogic's Technology Systems Division (TSD) were acquired and merged into a new business venture. These acquisitions allowed OEI to start business with a large installed system base and a significant presence in the industrial marketplace.
Our mission is to build upon the products and services formerly provided by Intermetrics' CSD and Togai InfraLogic's TSD and expand their capabilities and the range of product and service offerings to the industrial marketplace. It is also our goal to use applied research and development efforts to provide new products, technologies, and services to the industrial marketplace.

About our Name
We are often asked about the origin of our name. Our founder, Edgar Dohmann is also the owner and operator of Dohmann Pecan Farms. The Dohmann family grows pecans in Colorado, Brazoria, and DeWitt counties in Texas. The name "ORTECH" is an acronym of the words ORchards and TECHnology which are the two primary interests of our founder. The word "Engineering" was added because Edgar is a registered professional engineer and it describes our primary activity.
