Our 2009 pecan crop is growing at this time. Weather, squirrels, and crows permitting, the crop will be ready about mid-October, 2009. Please check back with us at that time for quality, availability, and pricing information.
Our 2008 pecan crop was a total wipeout due to the severe droughts in most of Texas last year. While much of Texas is still far behind the necessary rainfall amounts for 2009, our orchards have receive adequate rains (barely) so far this year. We are entering a critical time for the pecan crop (Jul-Sep) when much more rain is needed to fill out the nuts. Many crops in Texas have already been lost this year, but pecans still have a chance.
